Description

Tasting Notes

Steamed rice with a hint of toasted grain. On the palate, it opens light and nutty, then finishes deliciously dry with a crisp acidity and a subtle spicy note. When chilled, its smooth texture and mild umami shine; gently warming it coaxes out deeper rice and cereal tones without losing clarity.

Food Pairings

Extremely adaptable. Enjoy it with sushi, tempura, or izakaya fare, but it also complements Texas cuisine. The clean dryness and touch of spice pair nicely with grilled barbecue meats and Tex-Mex dishes – think charred chicken, brisket, or spicy tacos (its crisp finish refreshes the palate between hearty or spicy bites). This Junmai’s balance of umami and dryness makes it equally at home with simple seafood dishes or a plate of Texas smoked ribs.
